IBILE.TV NEWS – The All Progressives Congress (APC) said on Sunday it was “studying and relating all the facts before” taking “appropriate action” on the resignation of Senator Shehu Sani as a member of the party.
In a two-paragraph statement released on Sunday and signed by its spokesman, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, the party said it was commencing findings into the state of things, saying news of the senator’s decision was received through media reports.
Shehu Sani is the senator representing Kaduna Central. He has been at daggers drawn with Gov. Nasir El-Rufai since after the 2015 general election.
His resignation from the APC on Saturday appears to be the climax of his long-drawn battle with the governor having been denied the party’s ticket to seek a second term.
The statement read: “We received the news of the alleged defection of Senator Shehu Sani through media reports.
“The party leadership will relate with all the facts concerning the reported defection and react appropriately in due course”
