LASG Serves ‘Removal Notice’ To Owners Of Illegal Structures

The operatives of the Lagos State Task Force today served a 7-day ‘Removal Notice’ to owners of all illegal structures / commercial activities along Badagry Expressway.

The Chairman of the Agency, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi while addressing owners of these illegal structures/traders at different spots, warned them to vacate all road setbacks and walkways within the stipulated date contained in the notice.

He disclosed that the ‘Removal Notice’ became imperative as part of preparations for the commencement of road works to be embarked by the state government along the corridor as well as dislodge criminal elements who use the structures as hideouts to rob unsuspecting motorists and innocent commuters of their valuables.

According to him, “The Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu newly signed ‘Executive Order’ on traffic and sanitation has zero-tolerance for environmental abuse, illegal and indiscriminate dumping of refuse and defacing the environment”.

While stressing that all illegal structures / commercial activities on-road setbacks and walk-ways from ‘Eric Moore’ down to ‘Trade Fair’ must be removed on or before Tuesday, 23rd of July, 2019, CSP Egbeyemi warned that anyone that failed to abide by the said notice after the stipulated date would be dealt with in accordance with the provision of the law.
